Snow abstraction
I think this abstract tangle of snow and branches looks very painterly in a saturated blue. I prefer it to the natural appearance of the photo. What do you think?

Kimberly Orchards in the fall
Looking out at the North Fork of the John Day River, and the Kimberly Orchards. The fruit trees' colorful fall foliage changes from one grove to the next, a colorful patchwork.

Orchard Fire
The fruit trees at Kimberly Orchards are bursting with fall color. They look amazing against the deep blue of the fall sky, the muted reds of the rimrock, and the drab sage.

Monument through the lens
A frosty winter morning in Monument. One of my photographic inspirations has always been the photography in National Geographic. I am especially moved by the 'slice-of-life' photos of urban and rural areas that show the soul of a locale without glossing over the grit. I hope this photo conveys some of the beauty of Monument, along with the hardscrabble existence that living here brings.
